Comprehensive architectural and interior design project for a country home

DE House

2025, Dębce

House DE | The comprehensive architectural and interior design of this house, located in a small village on the Oder River, draws inspiration from traditional farmstead architecture. The building is situated in close proximity to the main channel of the river, surrounded by mature trees that provide a natural framework for the spatial composition.

The layout of the complex is based on a clear structure of two volumes: the main house and the “carriage house”—a spacious garage tailored to the residents’ individual needs related to caravanning and fishing. The buildings are separated by a gateway that organizes the space and serves as a contemporary reference to the form of a traditional farmstead. The whole forms a cohesive, enclosed composition—a contemporary farmstead set within the local context.

The compact form of the house, situated along the property line, acts as a barrier facing the street while opening up to the private garden, which extends toward the forest. The monochromatic finish of the facade—mass-colored concrete and black corrugated metal—emphasizes the architecture’s understated character.

The living area is a double-height space with an open kitchen, connected to a sunroom separated by a massive fireplace. The interior opens onto the garden and a country road lined with oak trees.
