Architectural design for a boutique real estate development
Houses MI
2021, Szczecin
MI Homes | An architectural concept for a complex of two-unit homes located in Osowo, Szczecin, offering an alternative to large suburban residences. The development is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Arkoński Forest, within a landscape characterized by varied topography, which determines the form of the buildings and the spatial relationships between them.
Each house contains two spacious apartments, designed to ensure a high level of privacy. The minimalist layout of the buildings and their mutual offsets limit direct visual connections while opening the interiors to the surrounding greenery. The elongated gardens serve as a natural extension of the living areas, creating a clear structure of semi-private and private spaces.
The urban design draws on the pre-war concept of the garden city, reinterpreting Bruno Taut’s Gartenstadt principles through the arrangement of buildings in a gently radial layout and the deliberate creation of visual axes. The development retains an intimate character while conveying a sense of spaciousness and openness.
The facades are finished with clinker brick in light earth tones, which reinforces the architecture’s connection to its surroundings. An integral part of the design is the spacious underground garage, which helps minimize the presence of cars above ground and preserve the garden-like character of the space.
