Comprehensive design and supervision of the interior renovation of an apartment with a sea view

BA apartment

2019–2023, Szczecin

BA Apartment | The interior of this compact apartment, located on a high floor along the Baltic Sea waterfront, was designed for two residents. The original layout was transformed—the partial demolition of walls opened up the space toward the sea, providing a view of the water from every area of the apartment.

The palette of materials was selected based on the principle of subdued, natural textures. Matte veneers and raw stone with a hammered texture are paired with graphite surfaces and Detale CPH textured plaster. The neutral backdrop highlights ethnic art and artifacts—elements with a strong, expressive character that help set the mood of the interior. The Planika biofireplace serves as the centerpiece of the living area.

The kitchen is an integral part of the living area—open to the living room, it can be discreetly separated from the common space using retractable panels, while maintaining flexibility of use. The lighting was selected by zone and with precision: a Flos Noctambule lamp hangs above the table as a striking accent that does not obstruct the view of the sea, Deltalight directional fixtures highlight the display of artifacts, and Wever & Ducré provides the general lighting for the space.

The project featured numerous custom-designed elements—bedside tables, a leather headboard with adjustable sections, and built-in wardrobes with leather trim on the interior. The entire project was completed under the designer’s supervision.
