Comprehensive interior design and construction of a large house

XM House

2019–2023, Szczecin

XM House | Interiors of a single-story single-family home in Szczecin. Four partially overlapping building volumes define the internal rhythm of the space—the division of functions is achieved not through partition walls, but through functional volumes that house auxiliary spaces. The result is a continuous interior in which successive zones open up to one another seamlessly and without barriers.

Natural light reaches even the more recessed areas thanks to skylights precisely positioned above key workspaces: the kitchen island, the main hall, the walk-in closet, and the transitional spaces. Panoramic sliding windows, deeply recessed into the south facade, enhance this effect—opening the interiors to the surrounding forests and inviting Szczecin’s ever-changing light inside.

The materials were selected based on a minimalist palette and bold, tactile textures. Light-colored veneers and brushed Boen oak planks are paired with slightly rough, light-gray Detale CPH textured plaster on the walls and ceilings. Large-format porcelain tiles with a slate texture and lacquered cabinetry in muted, matte colors create a serene backdrop for the kitchen island—a monolithic countertop made of natural quartzite that defines the center of the home and organizes the shared space.

The seemingly minimalist kitchen conceals extensive storage space: a pantry and additional work surfaces hidden behind sliding doors. The lighting—by Deltalight, Flos, and Foscarini—was selected individually for each zone, emphasizing the character of the space and its purpose. The furnishings are complemented by pieces from top brands such as Flexform, Baxter, B&B Italia, and Poliform, as well as Axor faucets.

Interior design is an integral part of a comprehensive concept that encompasses architecture, interiors, landscaping, and outdoor fixtures.
