A comprehensive architectural and interior design project for a mountain retreat

KG House

2023–2026, Jelenia Góra

Dom KG | This comprehensive architectural, interior, and site development project, located on a vast plot of land under nature conservation, responds to the restrictive provisions of the local zoning plan and the challenging landscape context. The project involves the construction of a complex of three single-story buildings with distinct functions, designed as agricultural structures. The structures are connected by a system of pedestrian walkways, creating a clear, dispersed spatial structure.

The variation in foundation levels stems directly from the topography of the site and allows the architecture to blend seamlessly into the natural landscape. Each building offers sweeping views of the gentle slopes of the Rudawy Janowickie Mountains, while preserving the intimate character of the spaces between them.

The architecture is based on a minimalist formal language and a subdued palette of materials. The facades are finished with prefabricated raw concrete cladding, which will naturally weather over time and blend into the surroundings. Distinctive, prominent eaves with minimalist detailing and roofs covered with aspen shingles emphasize the horizontal arrangement of the volumes and their connection to the landscape.

The project seeks to strike a balance between architectural intervention and the existing environment, creating a space with a serene aesthetic that blends seamlessly into the site’s natural surroundings.
